Moderate Rehabilitation Program

Aurora Housing Authority is not providing application status for this program at this time.

When you applied you received a confirmation page with information about the program you applied for, this page stated you must keep your address updated in writing and the waiting list is approximately 1 year or longer.  Vacancies must be available before offers can be sent out to the next family on the waiting list.

AHA cannot predict when a vacancy will become available.

The Housing Authority is currently not accepting calls or inquiries regarding waiting list status.  When vacancies are available, the next individuals on the list are contacted by mail.  Please remember to read all information carefully and keep your mailing address current because this is how you will be notified.


Also known as the Mod Rehab program, this program consists of privately owned apartment complexes generally located in north Aurora.

  • Residents pay approximately 30% of household income towards rent
  • Families cannot make more than 50% of the area median income to be eligible for the Mod Rehab program at admission.
  • Maximum income for program eligibility is currently $39,650 for a family of four.
  • Approximate waiting list time is one year or longer.
  • It is important to note that the subsidy stays with the unit in the Mod Rehab program. Unlike the Housing Choice Voucher program, the subsidy does not stay with the family, it stays with the unit.
  • The Housing Authority determines eligibility on the participating family and performs the initial and annual housing quality standards inspection on the units.
  • The owner maintains all other normal property manager rights and responsibilities.
