Since 1975, The Housing Authority of the City of Aurora (AHA) has worked to ensure that residents of Aurora with low and moderate incomes have safe, decent, and affordable housing.

AHA owns and manages several housing developments with over 800 units of rental housing in the community. These communities are financed using a variety of funding mechanisms including Tax Credits, RTC, Bond Financing, Section 8 New Construction and Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation. Additionally, The AHA administers the Section 8 Housing Voucher Program within the City of Aurora.  We currently provide housing assistance to over 1,150 families through these programs.

Assistant Property Manager

The Aurora Housing Authority is currently accepting resumes for the position of Assistant Property Manager. The right candidate will provide support to the Property Manager in the day-to-day operations of the property, including, rent collection, showing and leasing apartments, processing applications, preparing lease documents, addendums, coordinating move-ins and move-outs. Minimum 3 years of

property management experience, with 1 year as an assistant manager. Strong knowledge of Housing Program Regulations and Compliance including Tax Credits, RTC, Bond Financing, Public Housing, Section 8 project based, Section 8 New Construction and Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation. Strong working knowledge of computers and office software: Word, Excel, Outlook, YARDI or AMSI.

Maintenance Supervisor

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all housing units in the AHA portfolio to ensure that units are maintained to company standards. Oversees maintenance work performed on property units and buildings, assesses capital improvement needs, and trains maintenance staff per established Property Standards. Oversees and performs preventative maintenance and curb appeal issues as needed. Monitor vacant units for turn, move-in and HQS inspection completion; monitor vacancy reports to ensure unit turn times are appropriate. Monitors on-site shops, including inventory management, review monthly inventory reports for discrepancies and inventory control.

Required Certifications: HVAC, Boiler Technician, Mold Remediation

Additional Certifications: Pool Maintenance, Lead Paint Inspection, Asbestos Removal

Maintenance Technician I

The Aurora Housing Authority is currently accepting resumes for the position of Maintenance Technician I. The right candidate performs repair and preventative maintenance work on property units and buildings per Property Standards established for the sites to which assigned. Responsible for the timely completion of any assigned service request, turn of vacant units prior to new resident move-in, initiates and implement preventative maintenance schedules, cleans common areas and ensures property grounds are well maintained and free of debris and litter. On-call night and week-end work required per schedule.

Minimum 1 year experience. Expert mechanical aptitude, solid knowledge of electrical and plumbing repair and maintenance, basic carpentry skills.
