January 6, 2012 - Happy New Year! There is a visible change on the site. The concrete foundations and slab have been poured for 3/4 of the building’s footprint --- along the west and south sides. The first (of 3) masonry stairwells is completed, and one (of 2) trash chutes started. By mid-January, steel stairwells and steel supports will be started, and wood-framers will have commenced. There could be 100 workers on site!

The Village at Westerly Creek
The Aurora Housing Authority (AHA) intends to redevelop its Buckingham Gardens housing complex and adjacent existing parcel of land to create a new development known as The Village at Westerly Creek. The first phase of the new development will replace the existing 130-unit complex with 120 units of affordable, independent senior living located in 2 elevator buildings of 3- and 4- stories. The first phase will be located along Kentucky between Ironton and Jamaica and totals 10.998 Acres.
